A viewing of the award-winning film, The Mystery of Chaco Canyon and presentation by Dr. Erica Ellingson, Professor at the University of Colorado, Dept. of Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences. The Mystery of Chaco Canyon is the sequel to Anna Sofaer's The Sun Dagger. The Mystery of Chaco Canyon explores the brilliant astronomy of the ancient Puebloans and how buildings were located and oriented to the sun and the moon and to highlight these complex relationships. Prior to the movie, Dr Ellingson will speak about the connections between Chaco and Chimney Rock and the ancients' dependence upon the skies.
