Pagosa Paddle Whitewater Races hosted by Friends of the Upper San Juan River

Friday, May 15, 2026 4:00 PM - Saturday, May 16, 2026 5:00 PM (MDT)

Description

Get ready to paddle and compete your way through two fun-filled days on the water at Pagosa Paddle! Friday-Sprints only and Sat full day.

Welcome to Pagosa Paddle! On Friday, May 15, we will run all category Sprints to Sunset-registration begins at 4pm-races start at 5pm. On Saturday, May 15, registration begins at 8am, races begin at 9am-4pm. Pagosa Paddle invites competitors to come down to the San Juan River as a surge of boaters compete for awards and prizes during the annual Pagosa Paddle whitewater races. This is a sanctioned regional qualifier for the Nationals. All athletes need to provide their own equipment, and a helmet and PFD are required to be worn at all times during participation in Pagosa Paddle.

Not up for paddling? Come out to cheer on these athletes as they go through the downtown water features that make up the whitewater park on the San Juan River through downtown Pagosa Springs. Spectators can watch the action from above at the Overlook viewing point, alongside the almost famous river walk or from the healing waters at The Springs Resort. We are collaborating again with The Springs Resort during their Pints, Pools and Paddles event. All Pagosa Paddle participants will receive a FREE soaking pass. Even better, the first 25 athletes to register will receive a full access pass to Pints, Pools and Paddles which means soaking and beer tasting after the race!! Grab your friends and your paddles and support Friends of the Upper San Juan River for this awesome fundraising event.
